India has one of the world's largest wire and cable industries — power cables, building wire, control and instrumentation cable, and specialty products all made at scale. Behind every reel is a chain of machinery: pay-offs, extruders, crossheads, cooling troughs, capstans and take-ups, each of which has to be understood, specified and run well.
